Application of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to library services

Abstract

The paper examines the different types of ICTs available. It also dwells extensively on ICTs application to specific library operations and suggests the different areas that need priority attention if libraries in Nigeria would be made to benefit from the varied opportunities offered by ICTs. Finally, it concludes by predicting a bright future for Nigeria libraries, provided the suggested lines of action are adequately looked into and necessary steps taken to alleviate the challenges identified.
